Tampa Bay Softball Game Balls & Dinger Tracker - 3/1/24

Academy at the Lakes P Sydney Klein.

The final day of Week 2 had no shortage of high-octane offenses across Tampa Bay within its walls, while a trio of teams went toward Orlando and all picked off wins.

Calvary Christian, East Lake and Berkeley Prep all picked up wins across Central Florida on Friday. River Ridge stayed unbeaten with a win over Land O'Lakes, as did Osceola, who trounced rival Seminole. Wesley Chapel picked up its first win, while Clearwater and Bartow kept rolling.

Here's Friday's Game Balls and Dinger Tracker with a few games to watch on Saturday.

Game Balls:

Sydney Klein, Sr., Academy at the Lakes – Tossed a complete game six-hitter and allowed Hernando to just one earned run to earn the Wildcats a 3-1 victory over a traditionally strong North Suncoast squad.

Ava Blakely, Sr., Wesley Chapel – The Lamar signee got the Wildcats off and running with a two-run home run in the first that paced her side for a huge offensive night across the board. Blakely went 3-for-5 with four total driven in and two runs scored to help Wesley Chapel pick up its first win of the season, 11-7 over Springstead.

Lauren Fernald, Jr., Northeast – Her RBI triple in the seventh tied the game before the Vikings got another big hit right behind her to steal a victory from host Largo, 5-4. Fernald had a pair of hits and crossed home as the game-winning run.

Belle Mancillas, Sr., Frostproof – As she’s been known to do, Mancillas did a little bit of everything to help the Bulldogs beat Lake Placid, 7-4. She ripped two doubles, scored twice and struck out 13 across a complete game effort.

Ailynn Hauschen, Jr., River Ridge – For the first time this season, the Royal Knights needed some offense to go along with its stellar pitching and Hauschen provided it with a 2-for-3 night that included her first home run of the year and a pair of runs scored to keep River Ridge unbeaten after a 6-5 win at Land O’Lakes.
